Full Job Description:
1st Choice Phlebotomist
The Phlebotomist will draw blood and take other samples from patients, ensuring they are identifying and labeling all specimens accurately for tests.
Phlebotomists will take patient information, record documentation, store samples as required and drop off samples to the corresponding laboratories.
Shift and Hours:
Full Time/Part time
Most work days begin at 7AM and end by 2PM
Schedules, including days of week, are subject to change upon shift or customer needs
Pay:
$20.00 - $80.00 per client
(Based on specimen collection, location of clients and STAT orders)
Qualifications:
- Phlebotomy Technician certificate or license from The National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
- Must meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudication for child care
- Must be flexible with work times
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills with command of the English language
- Detail oriented, able to handle multiple tasks in a limited time frame
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills, teamwork
- Ability to work independently without supervision, meet deadlines and be flexible
- Must be dedicated to exceptional customer service
- Must be able to multitask and be detail oriented
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license with no restrictions medically or legally
- Must maintain vehicle in excellent working conditions and be prepared for any and all possibilities concerning weather, and malfunctioning of said vehicle
- Working updated cell phone with ability to download and use applications
- Must maintain a safe, clean, and refrigerated place for specimen collection
- Must know, understand and follow HIPPA regulations
- Must be able to legally work in the United States
- Must be punctual and dependable for assigned shifts
- Phlebotomist will represent the company as a professional by keeping all conversations strictly to business.
Responsibilities:
- Collects laboratory specimens from patients
- Maintains the confidentiality of any information received from any person or source about a client/patient, unless authorized in writing by the client/patient or required by law or court order
- Complies with the applicable state and federal regulations in regard to the security, safety of patient
- Support the laboratory function of providing diagnostic information for use in patient care by ensuring proper collection and processing of laboratory specimens
- Respond effectively to member, clinicians, nursing staff and other department needs
- Assure completeness and accuracy of specimen labeling
- Provide good customer service to all members
- Prioritize workload according to urgency of request
- Centrifuge, aliquot, separate, refrigerate, freeze or handle specimens as required to maintain specimen integrity
- Maintain appropriate and sufficient communication with supervisor and team members, as needed
- Maintain a clean and sanitary space, sterilize supplies properly
- Print reports
- Collections will be dependent upon the clientele at the clinic and there may be intermittent down time or times when it is busy
