1st Choice is seeking a dependable and mission-driven Bilingual Medical Office Assistant to support a high-volume public health clinic within a major city’s Immunization Program. This clinic provides critical vaccination services to children, adults, and families across Baltimore, ensuring equitable access to public health resources.In this role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, handling registration, appointment scheduling, and phone support. Bilingual (English Spanish) fluency is required to support the diverse community served by the clinic.Location: Baltimore, MD (Onsite at a Public Health Clinic)Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday, 37.5hrsKey ResponsibilitiesRegister patients into the clinic’s Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system with accuracy and professionalismGreet patients and guide them through the clinic check-in processReturn patient calls and schedule appointmentsVerify patient demographics and maintain accurate recordsManage a multi-line phone system and respond to patient inquiriesSupport clinic flow by coordinating with nursing and administrative staffMaintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirementsPerform general administrative tasks including filing, data entry, and appointment remindersKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesBilingual fluency required; English Spanish speaking Excellent customer service and interpersonal skillsStrong data-entry accuracy and attention to detailAbility to work efficiently in a fast-paced, patient-focused clinical environmentProficiency using EMR systems or the ability to learn quicklyAbility to handle sensitive information with discretionStrong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyProfessional communication skills with individuals from diverse backgroundsExperience RequirementsMinimum 2 years of office or administrative experience requiredExperience in a medical clinic, community health program, or hospital preferredPrior experience with EMR systems (Epic, eClinicalWorks, Athena, etc.) desirableExperience managing appointment scheduling and patient registration preferredExperience supporting multilingual or diverse communities strongly preferredEducationHigh School Diploma or GED requiredAdditional education or certificates in Medical Office, Healthcare Administration, or Public Health are a plusChoose 1st Choice — we care about our people, offer great benefits, and create real opportunities to grow.
