What are the responsibilities and job description for the Delivery Driver and Warehouse Assistant position at 1st Choice Construction Management?
JOB SUMMARY
The Delivery driver and warehouse assistant are responsible for aiding the Logistics Manager with receiving deliveries into the warehouse, along with coordinating deliveries leaving the warehouse. The LAM ensures that deliveries are completed efficiently, safely, and on time. They also are responsible for warehouse organization and safety.
REPORTS TO: Logistics Manager (LM)
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver products to customer locations in a timely manner.
- Loading and unloading materials from delivery/to truck.
- Assisting in keeping the warehouse organized.
- Following the best practices for safety, both on the road and adhering to OSHA Safety Regulations.
- Communicating with the Logistics Manager and the Project Managers to make deliveries.
- Meeting delivery dates promptly.
- Performing basic truck maintenance.
- Obtaining Project Manager, Sub-Contractor, or customer signatures when needed.
- Overnight stays in delivery regions at times
Key Skill Requirements
- A valid state driver's license and a safe driving record.
- At least one year of experience driving a Box Truck, Van & Pick-Up Truck or two years driving a commercial vehicle or proven ability to drive a box truck, at times in confined circumstances.
- Ability to safely handle a sometimes-physical workload. Deliveries to include but not limited to: cabinets, cabinet doors, and drawer fronts, and other large items.
- Clear, effective communication skills.
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Gmail, Google Chat, Smartsheet, or an equivalent project management platform is desirable.
