1st Care Home Health is currently seeking a Part-Time Speech-Language Pathologist! This position includes our coverage area for Lynchburg, Campbell County and the surrounding service area

Job Responsibilities:

• excellent documentation and communication skills, ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, licensure to work in the state of Virginia, and CPR certification.
• evaluates patient speech status to determine deficits, considers diagnosis, prognosis, and pertinent medical history in determining rehabilitative potential
• Includes patient/family members as active participants in therapy through appropriate counseling and instruction
• Adopts speech therapy program to patient’s level of function, establishes goals for Speech Therapy

Job Skills and Requirements:

• an individual who meets the education and experience requirements for a Certificate of Clinical Competence in (speech pathology or audiology) granted by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association; or meets the educational requirements for certification and is in the process of accumulating the supervised experience required for certification. (SLP)
• sound knowledge in speech therapy principles and standards
• excellent interpersonal skills required to deal effectively with patients/families, physicians, and staff
• must have a valid driver’s license and provide own transportation.
