Position Title:
Loan Servicing Specialist Department: LPO

STATUS: Non-Exempt GRADE: TBD

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

Position Reports To: Loan Operations Manager

Positions Supervised: N/A

POSITION PURPOSE

Primarily responsible for maintaining borrowing base lines of credit to include weekly advances and pay-downs, along with monitoring seasonal draw down lines of credit. Provide lending support through performance of specific duties in the loan department with the goal of improving overall management and growth in the Bank loan portfolio. Adhere to Core Values and promote Value Driven Culture at all times. Perform duties in compliance with regulatory requirements including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

  • Post payments, loan advances, principal pay-downs and loan payoffs.
  • Reconcile loan general ledger accounts.
  • Process escrow disbursements for property taxes, insurance, PMI, etc.
  • Monitor various loan ticklers for insurance, UCC, recorded documentation, final title, etc.
  • Review daily loan reports, payment postings and clear loan exceptions.
  • Input all loan related invoices into accounts payable system for payment.
  • Process postal/interoffice mail.
  • Answer phone, emails, walk-in customers.
  • Process outgoing and incoming loan wires and participation payments.
  • Process credit reference requests.
  • Order office supplies.
  • Assist Loan Officers with customer inquiries, construction advance requests, pull credit reports, etc.
  • Adhere to Core Values and promote Value Driven Culture at all times.
  • Comply with the Bank Secrecy Act policies and procedures, including attendance at annual training, as directed by the Bank Secrecy Act Officer.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Education/Certification: GED or high school diploma required.

Experience Required: One - three years’ related experience.

Required Knowledge: Knowledge of consumer and commercial lending preferred.

Skills/Abilities: Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as written and verbal communication skills are necessary. Strong organizational and mathematical skills are required.

ADVANCEMENT REQUIREMENTS

To advance in this position, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, as determined by manager/supervisor. Time in position and ability to perform job duties with minimal to no supervision is necessary.

Physical Strength: Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Employee may occasionally be required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet; frequent interruptions during the day; average office environment in

regard to temperature and lighting, occasional need to work off-site or outdoors; some city, or state travel may be required.

MENTAL DEMANDS

Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

Characteristics: Positive attitude; Must be self-motivated and able to function independently in a multi-task environment while also taking direction and working as part of a team. Must possess a high level of integrity, recognizing the need for discretion and confidentiality. Must be able to tactfully handle all situations and remain impartial. A collaborative work style is required.
