Seeking Certified Occupational Therapist for dynamic SNF environment.
Purpose of Your Job Position
The Occupational Therapist is responsible for evaluating, planning, and implementing individualized treatment programs to help residents develop, regain, or maintain daily living and work skills. The OT works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to promote residents' independence, safety, and quality of life in accordance with facility policies and state/federal regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Evaluate residents' functional abilities and develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings and goals.
- Provide direct occupational therapy services including therapeutic exercises, ADL (activities of daily living) training, and adaptive equipment recommendations.
- Document all evaluations, treatments, and resident progress in accordance with professional and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with nursing, physical therapy, speech therapy, and other disciplines to ensure coordinated, comprehensive resident care.
- Educate residents, families, and caregivers on techniques to improve independence and safety.
- Participate in care plan meetings and discharge planning as needed.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable state, federal, and facility policies and procedures.
- Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) as required.
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current Rhode Island licensure (or eligibility) as an Occupational Therapist.
- Prior experience in a skilled nursing facility or geriatric setting preferred.
- Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to resident-centered care and rehabilitation excellence.
