Position Summary:
The Shop Hand plays an important role in keeping the fabrication shop safe, clean, organized and operating efficiently. This position supports the fabrication team by maintaining work areas, moving materials, assisting with equipment and shop housekeeping, and helping ensure employees have what they need to complete quality work. The ideal candidate takes pride in maintaining an organized workspace, works safely, and is always willing to jump in wherever help is needed.
Essential Function
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe fabrication shop, work areas, and storage locations.
- Sweep floors, remove scrap materials, empty trash, and support daily shop housekeeping
- Move materials, parts, and equipment throughout the shop using appropriate equipment and safe lifting practices
- Load, unload, organize and stage materials for upcoming fabrication projects
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, and PPE requirements
- Support shop operations with general labor and other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Reliable, dependable and able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work location
- Clear verbal communication for coordinating with the operator.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods
Company Requirements
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check to company standards.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary: $18 -$25 per hour
Overtime: Eligible after 40 hours of work in one week
