Job Summary
The Venue Manager is responsible for the end-to-end success of all events hosted at 1840 Manor House. This includes sales and client relations, event planning coordination, on-site supervision during events, vendor management, and day-to-day venue operations. The ideal candidate is customer-service focused, detail-oriented, with strong leadership and organizational skills, and a passion for delivering memorable guest experiences.
Responsibilities
- Client relations & sales management.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective clients from inquiry through post-event follow-up
- Conduct venue tours, prepare proposals and contracts, and close bookings
- Build and maintain relationships with repeat clients and referral sources (bridal parties, planners, photographers, caterers)
- Event planning & coordination
- Develop detailed event timelines, floor plans, and service orders
- Ensure all client specifications are documented and executed on the event day
- Serve as on-site coordinator during events to manage timing, vendor flow, and guest experience
- Operations & logistics
- Oversee calendar management, staffing plan, and vendor scheduling
- Coordinate venue setup, decor, catering, AV, lighting, and safety protocols
- Monitor inventory, signage, and maintenance; arrange repairs as needed
- People management
- Schedule and supervise on-site staff and contracted vendors; provide training and direction
- Ensure adherence to safety, health, and hospitality standards
- Financial & vendor management
- Manage event budgets, billing processes, and vendor payments with accuracy
- Negotiate and maintain relationships with preferred vendors and partners
- Marketing & community presence
- Collaborate with marketing efforts (website updates, social media, promotions, open houses)
- Attend local wedding industry events to network and generate leads
- Compliance & risk management
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and licensing
- Maintain incident reporting and implement corrective actions as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business, Marketing, or related field; or equivalent work experience (3–5 years in venue/event management or hospitality)
- Proven experience in restaurant management or hospitality management with a focus on food service.
- Proven experience coordinating weddings or large events; strong on-site event management background
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities; exceptional attention to detail
- Proficiency with event management software, scheduling tools, CRM systems, and MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Strong knowledge of food handling practices and safety regulations.
- Familiarity with inventory control processes and budget management.
