Role Description The Construction Materials Technician is a full-time, on-site position based in Williamson County, Texas, with opportunities to support projects throughout neighboring counties. This role is responsible for performing field and laboratory testing of construction materials, including concrete, soil, asphalt, and aggregates, to verify compliance with project specifications, TxDOT requirements, and applicable industry standards.


Key responsibilities include collecting and testing material samples, documenting and reporting test results, performing field inspections, and supporting quality assurance and quality control efforts on active construction projects. The technician will work closely with engineers, project managers, contractors, and clients to communicate findings, resolve field issues, and maintain accurate project documentation.


This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of transportation and infrastructure projects throughout Central Texas while gaining hands-on experience alongside an experienced team of industry professionals. Success in this role requires a strong commitment to safety, attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work effectively in both outdoor field conditions and laboratory environments.


Qualifications

  • Ability to perform Quality Control tasks, including monitoring materials and processes to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
  • Skills in Material Handling and working with various construction Materials, including concrete, soil, asphalt, and aggregates.
  • Laboratory Skills for testing and analyzing construction materials in accordance with established procedures and certifications.
  • Inspection experience in evaluating construction materials and work quality on-site and documenting results accurately.
  • Basic understanding of construction and civil engineering principles related to materials and infrastructure.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to maintain clear, thorough documentation.
  • Willingness to work in outdoor environments and travel to project sites within central Texas as needed.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical coursework and certifications in ACI, TxDOT, and AASHTO are a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license, ability to meet company driving requirements, background check, and pass a drug test.
