Peer Support Professional

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate certified Peer Recovery Coach/Support Professional to join our team! This role is designed for individuals who have lived experience with addiction, mental health challenges, or similar life experiences and are passionate about helping others navigate their recovery journey. This Peer will provide support, guidance, and encouragement to participants, fostering an environment for personal growth and development.

Duties

• Provide one-on-one coaching and support to participants in various stages of recovery.
• Assist participants in setting personal goals and developing actionable plans to achieve them.
• Facilitate group sessions that promote peer support and shared experiences.
• Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to empower participants in their decision-making processes.
• Offer crisis intervention and management support, as needed.
• Collaborate with treatment professionals to ensure comprehensive care for participants.
• Maintain accurate records of participant progress and interactions, while adhering to confidentiality standards.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

Skills

• Strong mentoring abilities with a focus on empowering others.
• Knowledge of peer support principles and practices.
• Proficient in crisis management techniques and strategies.
• Familiarity with behavioral health systems and resources.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Compassionate approach, with a strong understanding of the challenges faced by individuals in recovery.
• CPRC-A or CPRC credential through ICAADA, or CPSP certification through DMHA.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
