We are looking for a Service Technician for a 6 to 12 month contract in Elgin IL
Service Technician I
Location: Elgin, IL
Schedule: Monday to Friday | 40 hours per week
Duration: 6 to 12 Months (Contract)
Compensation: $20/hr
We are seeking a driven Service Technician to join our fast-paced technology operations team. In this role, you will configure, test, and ship telecommunications equipment used in mission critical environments.
What You’ll Do
• Configure and stage Windows computers, servers, switches, and firewalls
• Perform testing to ensure all systems and components function properly
• Read and follow configuration and build documentation
• Enter and maintain accurate system data throughout the process
• Diagnose and resolve configuration or sales order–related issues
• Collaborate closely with engineering and development teams
• Assist with shipping preparation and overall workflow needs
• Rotate between various technical tasks based on business priorities
What You Bring
• 1 to 3 years of relevant technical experience (or technical degree/certification with hands-on skills)
• Working knowledge of Windows OS, networking devices, and general computer hardware
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions with strong attention to detail
• Comfort lifting up to 50 lbs and working on your feet or seated for extended periods
• Reliable attendance and willingness to work overtime (including occasional weekends)
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Bonus Skills
• Cisco or HP networking experience
• Basic scripting/debugging capabilities (huge plus for future full-time consideration)
• U.S. Citizen preferred
