About the role
Ready to stay close to home while building your professional driving career? 18 Wheels USA is hiring entry-level CDL A truck drivers for the Eastern seaboard. Get 4–6 weeks of paid mentor training, then move into solo regional or drop-and-hook USPS loads. Earn $0.55–$0.65 CPM ($1400–$1600 weekly) with full benefits and stay home every 2 weeks.
What we offer
- Paid training during the 4–6 week mentor period.
- After training, solo drivers are paid $0.55 to $0.65.
- Run anywhere from 2500 - 3000 miles a week
- Earn an average of $1500–$1900 weekly once running solo.

What you'll be doing
- Complete a 4–6 week paid mentor training period to learn operations, safe driving practices, trip planning, and professional expectations, then transition to solo regional or OTR driving.
- Transport freight safely and efficiently while managing 2-week driving periods, handling pickups, deliveries, and staying organized without direct supervision.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, maintain professionalism, and represent the company during all operations.
- Build experience with route execution, time management, and safe decision-making as you grow from trainee to independent driver.

- Reliability: Report on time, follow dispatch instructions, provide status updates, and stay organized during solo runs.

- Adaptability: Assess road conditions and scheduling challenges, communicate options to dispatch, and handle route or load changes professionally.
- Professional conduct: Stay calm under pressure, communicate respectfully, and represent the company well on regional and OTR accounts.
What you'll need
- Required: Valid CDL A license, certificate from an accredited school (120 hours instruction), and valid driver's license.
- No prior experience needed. You'll complete our mentor-based training program before going solo.
