Repair Technician Vacancy
18 Karat is a local, established company that’s been in business for over 24 years. 18 Karat Incorporated has 3 immediate openings for a Heavy Equipment Diesel Repair Technician. This position is for repairs on heavy diesel equipment, not vehicles or small engines.
Responsibilities of a Heavy Equipment Diesel Repair Technician
- Diagnose any mechanical, electrical, or other breakdown or failure of company trucks and other mechanized equipment.
- Read precision instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators, bore gauges, voltmeters, digital multi-meters, calibrators, and other electronic diagnostic tools.
- Troubleshoot and perform failure analysis of the component parts and systems on trucks and other mechanized equipment.
Skills of the Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic:
- Applicants should have excellent troubleshoot skills in hydraulics, electrical, engines and power train systems
- Repair and replace damaged or worn parts
- Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools
- Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment to diagnose defects
- Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications
- Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles
- Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings
- Overhaul and test machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency
- Fit bearings to adjust, repair, or overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices
- Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges.
Qualifications / Requirements of the Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic:
- Applicants should have 5 years of experience
- Applicants must pass a criminal back ground check and have a valid driver’s license
- Applicants must pass a drug screening
