Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference. Job Summary Assists with assigning and scheduling daily operations of Engineering Services. Responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance of assigned equipment. Coordinates Preventive Maintenance/PM activities for assigned equipment. Assists other sections/areas in troubleshooting complex mechanical problems. Essential Functions All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's values: Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference. Repairs and maintains equipment for the following: plumbing, HVAC, life safety, pumps, exhaust fans, pneumatic tube systems, building automation, Med Gas systems, electrical equipment, and nurse call systems. Maintains all equipment to ensure drawings are up to date and changes are permanently documented. Provides routine equipment training for all staff. Schedules personnel and assists to keep PM system at 100% completion rate as well as other assigned work being completed on time. Performs and schedules the repair of equipment. Reports to supervisor as to the general condition of hospital facilities and general progress of work being performed. Assists supervisor in maintaining written records of mechanical equipment maintenance, PM and periodic inspections as required by appropriate regulatory agencies, i.e. City of Columbia, DHEC, JCAHO. Estimates and orders materials needed to complete jobs. Evaluates on-site stock for critical utility equipment. Develops scopes of work for projects and provides oversight of outside contractors. Organizes shutdowns and major repairs in conjunction with the supervisor. Ensures work is performed with the utmost awareness for safety and hygiene. Ensures proper Lock-out Tag-out procedures are being followed. Supplements staff in the completion of work assignments. Provides technical oversight to ensure adequate job completion and technical competence of personnel. Responds to emergency calls and assists technicians and other trained personnel on medical gas, vacuum leaks, fire system, etc. Participates in emergency call back system. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements Education - High School diploma or equivalent OR post-high school diploma/highest degree earned Experience - Five (5) years - Electrical Experience - preferred Hospital/Healthcare experience - preferred In Lieu Of In lieu of the education and experience requirements noted above, an Associate degree (technical/trade).
