Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized, motivated, and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to support our project management team in the execution of high-end residential construction projects. This position serves as a critical connection between the office and field teams, ensuring project information, documentation, schedules, and communication flow efficiently between project managers, subcontractors, architects, consultants, and clients.
The Assistant Project Manager will work closely with Project Managers, the Operations Manager, and Project Executives to support projects from pre-construction through completion, helping maintain schedules, budgets, documentation, and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Support Project Managers with the daily coordination and execution of high-end residential construction projects
- Act as a key liaison between the office and field teams to ensure accurate and timely communication of project information
- Assist with reviewing architectural drawings, specifications, contracts, and subcontractor documents
- Manage and organize project documentation, including drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, meeting notes, and project correspondence
- Assist with the preparation, tracking, and review of subcontractor submittals and shop drawings
- Help coordinate communication between architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, consultants, inspectors, and owner representatives
- Track project schedules, milestones, procurement items, and outstanding action items
- Assist with preparing scopes of work, bid comparisons, and subcontractor coordination
- Support change order management, including gathering pricing, documentation, and approvals
- Participate in site visits and prepare field reports, meeting summaries, and project updates
- Assist with maintaining project budgets, cost tracking, and reporting
- Coordinate project meetings, including subcontractor meetings, design coordination meetings, and progress reviews
- Assist with project closeout documentation, including warranties, manuals, as-builts, and final records
- Ensure project files and documentation are maintained accurately and comply with company standards
- Support the Operations Manager and Project Executives with additional project coordination needs
Qualifications
- Degree or coursework in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, Interior Design, or a related field preferred
- 1–2 years of experience in construction, architecture, design, or project coordination preferred (internship experience considered)
- Strong ability to read and understand architectural drawings, plans, and specifications
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and take ownership of responsibilities
- Comfortable working between office and field environments
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and project management software
- Ability to quickly learn new technology platforms and company processes
- Experience with construction documentation, RFIs, submittals, and project coordination is a plus
