What are the responsibilities and job description for the Packaging Helper position at 151 Foods and Careers?
1. Assist Operators, Line Lead and Production Supervisor
2. Rotate when asked and where needed- no one is hired to an assigned spot
3. Keep product flowing evenly on the lines
4. When packing in Trays and Boxes visually inspect that Trays and Boxes are free from debris and clean.
5. Pack finished product in designated bag per product specification
6. When working at the Kwik-Loc station make sure that the product is bagged and clipped properly and has the correct lot code.
7. Make sure that the product is placed properly in the shipping trays
8. Stack the product trays/boxes evenly and at recommended height.
9. Transport finished product to designated areas (use hand trucks for items without wheels)
10. Maintain a clean and safe work area (sweep and pick up trash)
11. Must be able to count
12. Prepare work area for upcoming product and leave area ready for next crew (get trays and bags)
13. No employee is finished work until the supervisor approves that they are finished and that all tasks have been completed.
14. Must be able and willing to train new staff
15. Know where emergency STOP, and START/STOP buttons are located
16. Wear gloves while handling ready to eat products.
17. Support without hesitation General Plant Safety, Food Safety, Food Defense Initiatives and Good Manufacturing Practices with an understanding that these are absolutes and are Priority #1.
18. Follow all company GMP procedures
19. Perform all special requests by the Production Supervisor or Line Lead
Knowledge / Skills
- Ability to monitor product quality during packaging.
- Basic math skills to compute product calculations as well as the ability read measurements on the identified measuring devices to check product height, length and internal temperatures.
- Attention to detail and strong observation skills.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
EDUCATION & REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in bakery production, food manufacturing, or packaging preferred
