What are the responsibilities and job description for the Oven General Helper position at 151 Foods and Careers?
1. Transferring product in and out of retarder and proofer
2. Unload racks as directed and place on oven infeed conveyors (if applicable)
3. Able to push full racks into rack unloader (if applicable)
4. Must unload racks from bottom to top per company GMP’s
5. Catch boards or empty racks
6. Must be able to use a scalpel to score bread when needed
7. Push carts or racks filled with boards to designated area
8. Rotate when asked and where needed- no one is assigned to a specific area
9. Maintain a clean and safe work area
10. Assist oven operator, lead, supervisor, or manager
11. Know where emergency STOP, and START/STOP buttons are located
12. When necessary, wear company issued gloves as directed
13. Follow all company’s GMP procedures
14. No employee is finished work until the supervisor approves that they are finished and that all tasks have been completed
15. Must be able and willing to train new staff
16. Support without hesitation General Plant Safety, Food Safety, Food Defense Initiatives and Good Manufacturing Practices with an understanding that these are absolutes and are Priority #1.
17. Notify Supervisor or Line Lead of any problems or concerns.
18. Perform all special requests by the Supervisor or Line Lead
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work requires some physical strain such as long periods of standing, bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting overhead. Must be able to lift approximately 35 pounds over head.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Working around power equipment, slippery floors and dusty areas. Very hot conditions during summer seasons. Protective clothing such as uniform, slip resistant shoes and gloves are required.
Knowledge / Skills
- Ability to monitor product quality during baking.
- Basic math skills to compute product calculations as well as the ability read measurements on the identified measuring devices to check product height, length and internal temperatures.
- Ability to follow production recipes and baking specifications.
- Attention to detail and strong observation skills.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
EDUCATION & REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in bakery production, food manufacturing, or oven operation preferred
