We are looking for a hard-working Structural Designer who is passionate about high quality deliverables and works well in a fast-paced environment. This Structural Designer will work with the structural engineering team to generate construction documents utilizing Revit for industrial and self-storage design-build projects. This person will assist in leading the effort for the generation of erection and fabrication drawings for cold-formed metal framing Self-Storage projects and tilt-up panel books for industrial projects.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

- Produce 3D models consistent with instruction, industry guidelines, and ARCO standards - Clearly annotate, dimension, and detail 2D production drawings - Work collaboratively with other team members and other design disciplines to create 3D models and 2D drawings - Assist the structural engineering project lead  - Create new Revit families, symbols, detail components, line styles, parameters, etc. as needed to improve efficiency of drawing production - Create 3D views or renderings as needed - Monitor work progress, anticipate changes or issues, and inform appropriate team members - Visit job sites for site observation purposes and drawing coordination

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS

  - 2 years of relevant building design experience utilizing Revit, OR a Degree in related discipline (Civil Engineering, Architecture, Drafting, and/or CAD, etc.) plus 1 year of relevant experience - Revit experience is required; preferably a working understanding of the creation and use of families, symbols, detail components, line styles, parameters, view templates, and filters  - Experience with concrete, structural steel, metal stud detailing, and cold-formed metal framing is preferred. - Ability to exercise judgment and discretion to set priorities and manage competing demands of multiple simultaneous projects and project managers - Detail-oriented mindset with an understanding of the importance of clear, concise, and consistent model creation and drawing documentation - Active and responsive communication skills (both written and verbal) - Reliability in delivery of excellent construction documents using verbal or high-level written descriptions, without detailed instruction or “redlines" - Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.) - Experience in Dynamo is a plus
