Investment Analyst

137 Ventures was founded in 2011 by Justin Fishner-Wolfson and S. Alexander Jacobson after spinning out of Founders Fund. We are a multi-strategy, multi-stage venture capital firm investing in generational high-growth technology businesses. The firm's goal is to drive outsized returns by building concentrated positions through different strategies including liquidity and primary capital. 137 has $6B in AUM across seven funds and other vehicles in a portfolio that includes SpaceX, Palantir, Uber, AirBnB, Anduril, Gusto, Ramp, and more.

Position Description

We’re looking for an Analyst to join our investment team. The Analyst will be exposed to all aspects of the investment due diligence process, including researching markets and industry trends, performing business and valuation analysis on prospective investments, and meeting with current and prospective portfolio companies.

Position Responsibilities

·     Conducting due diligence and valuation analysis on prospective and current investments 

·     Preparing various presentation deliverables including investment memos, marketing materials, and investor reports

·     Meeting with founders and senior executives at current and prospective portfolio companies

·     Researching and drafting reports on investment themes and industries of interest

·     Monitoring existing investments and preparing quarterly valuation updates

Experience Requirements 

·     Undergraduate degree with track record of academic excellence

·     1-3 years of professional experience working in investment banking, strategy consulting, technology, venture capital, private equity, investment management, or other relevant fields

·     Strong quantitative and analytical abilities with advanced financial modeling skills

·     Familiarity with and genuine interest in the technology startup ecosystem

·     Excellent business judgment, interpersonal skills, and work ethic

·     Detail oriented with exceptional oral and written communication skills

·     Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment while also working independently

·     A positive attitude and professional demeanor

·     Willingness to travel domestically

Base salary range of approx. $127,500 - $137,500 plus carried interest and benefits.
