Background:
HRCSD is seeking to hire Instructional Assistants to work in the 2026 Migrant Summer School Program. We will be running a K-12 Migrant Summer School Program at Mid Valley Elementary School. Summer School is tentatively planned for July 6-24, with a training day on July 1. Staff must be available for ALL days of summer school as well as the required inservice day. The number and type of positions are dependent on funding and student enrollment.
Assigned hours will range between 4 and 6.5 hours/day.
Instructional Assistants will be placed with a classroom teacher to provide academic and enrichment supports to students as outlined in the Instructional Assistant job description. Instructional assistants will also be assigned to cafeteria, playground and other student supervision duties, as needed. Paraprofessionals will operate with a higher level of autonomy as outlined in the Paraprofessional job description.
The number and type of positions is dependent on funding and student enrollment.
Qualifications:
The minimum qualification for Instructional Assistants and Paraprofessionals is possession of an Associates Degree from an accredited college or university, or the equivalent of 72 quarter credits of college coursework, or a passing score on the CBEST, Pearson/NES ParaProfessional or other district-approved rigorous assessment.
Bilingual English/Spanish skills are highly desired; preference will be given to applicants who are bilingual.
