In-Home Dementia Caregivers Needed
- Must be able to lift and fully support 125lbs
- Occasional transportation to/from appointments. Must have a valid drivers license and pass a background check.
- Personal Hygiene: Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, and incontinence care with a focus on preserving dignity.
- Nutrition: Prepare nutritious meals tailored to the senior’s preferences and dietary restrictions and provide gentle encouragement to eat and stay hydrated.
- Medication Management: Organize daily medication schedules, provide reminders, and document dosages taken.
- Mobility & Safety: Provide stand-by or hands-on assistance with walking and transferring, and implement fall-prevention strategies throughout the home
- Behavior Management: Monitor for, redirect, and de-escalate common dementia symptoms (e.g., anxiety, wandering, or agitation) in a calm and patient manner.
- Cognitive Engagement: Lead meaningful, low-stress activities like memory games, puzzles, light stretching, or listening to familiar music.
- Companionship: Provide emotional reassurance, a comforting presence, and continuous orientation to time, place, and people.
- Routine Maintenance: Maintain a structured, predictable daily routine, which helps reduce confusion and anxiety for dementia patients.
- Light Housekeeping: Perform light duties such as laundry, changing linens, washing dishes, and keeping the living space clean and hazard-free.
- Communication: Log daily behavior, food intake, and medication to share updates with family members or medical professionals
- Experience: 3 years of proven experience in dementia, Alzheimer's, or memory care.
- Desired days and times:Monday - Thursday 7:30am-2pm, Friday 8am – 5:30pm, Saturday 7:30am – 7:30pm, Sunday 7:30am – 7:30pm
- Compensation: Will be based on experience and certifications.
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
Experience:
- Caregiving: 3 years (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- Drivers License (Required)
- CPR Certification (Required)
