Location: San Diego, California (On-site)
Compensation: $90,000 – $100,000 annually
About the Role:
This role is for a mid-level Mechanical Designer who can operate independently, lead coordination, and deliver high-quality designs with minimal oversight.

What You’ll Do:
- Design HVAC systems for commercial, mixed-use, and institutional projects
- Perform heating and cooling load calculations and ventilation analysis
- Design ductwork, piping, and hydronic systems
- Coordinate equipment selection and system layouts
- Coordinate with electrical, plumbing, architectural, and structural teams
- Lead or participate in coordination meetings and resolve design conflicts
- Respond to plan check comments and construction administration (CA) issues
- Review work for quality and mentor junior designers as needed
What Success Looks Like (First 90 Days):
- Producing complete and accurate mechanical design packages with minimal revisions
- Effectively coordinating with other disciplines and resolving issues proactively
- Demonstrating reliability in deadlines, communication, and design quality
- Contributing to overall team efficiency and project delivery
Non-Negotiable Requirements:
- 4–6 years of MEP mechanical design experience
- Strong experience with U.S.-based commercial projects
- Proficiency in Revit for mechanical system design
- Experience performing HVAC load calculations and system sizing
- Working knowledge of mechanical codes and California requirements
- Ability to work on-site in San Diego or relocate prior to start
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with duct and hydronic system design
- Familiarity with Title 24 and California energy compliance requirements
- Experience leading coordination meetings
- Ability to mentor junior designers and review work for quality
- Strong communication skills when working with internal teams and clients
