We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Collections Specialist for a temporary, 60-day assignment. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in accounts receivable or collections and be confident in managing customer communications, resolving payment issues, and maintaining accurate records in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage customer accounts to ensure timely payment of outstanding invoices
- Contact clients via phone, email, or written correspondence to follow up on past-due accounts
- Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies, short payments, and disputed invoices
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date collection notes and account records
- Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to resolve billing or service issues affecting payments
- Prepare and summarize aging reports and provide updates to management on collection status and progress
- Recommend accounts for escalation or further action as necessary
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in accounts receivable, collections, or related financial roles
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Experience working in a small to mid-sized business environment preferred
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with accounting or ERP systems
Pay: $22-28/hr
