Responsibilities
- Conduct reviews of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) behavior assessments (such as Functional Behavior Assessments, VB-MAPP, and ABLLS-R), individualized treatment plans, and psychosocial evaluations to determine eligibility for ABA therapy.
- Collaborate with families, educators, therapists, and community partners to ensure cohesive care for clients.
- Process ABA authorization requests using the QNXT system.
- Document services and progress in accordance with clinical and regulatory standards.
- Assist members—either in person or by phone—with various challenges, including depression, anxiety, substance use, mental health issues, family problems, child-related concerns, and job jeopardy. Provide assessments, referrals, and follow-up support.
- Offer ongoing support and interventions for members admitted for psychiatric care, detoxification, and rehabilitation.
- Monitor and record client progress, maintaining accurate case records as required by the Fund and Departmental guidelines.
- Perform Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) authorizations.
- Provide emotional well-being workshops.
- Perform additional duties as assigned duties by management.
- Master’s Degree in Social Work or equivalent years of experience required; New York State License (LMSW) required.
- Minimum two (2) years post-graduate experience in direct social work required, Autism and ABA therapy experience highly preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
- Excellent written, listening, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must have the ability to exercise judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good work habits and relationships, maintaining the confidentiality of the position in all dealings.
- Ability to work well under pressure, maintains composure, multi-task, establish priorities, meet deadlines and follow through on assignments.
- Ability to work flexible hours including some evenings and weekends.
