Department: 38410 Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center - Pharmacy Status: Full time Benefits Eligible: Yes Hours Per Week: 35 Schedule Details/Additional Information: 7on/7off, 3rd shift (2100-0730) Pay Range $21.45 - $32.20 Job Summary: Prepares and delivers unit dose medications and cart fill for adult and pediatric patients. Participates in quality and process improvement activities of the Central Pharmacy. Completes other duties as needed to assist other pharmacy teams, which include but not limited to pediatric pharmacy and the Omnicell team. Will be expected to uphold the hospital’s seven key values and to be a team player at all times. Assists pharmacists in providing high quality pharmaceutical care. May be cross trained to other areas. Maintains technician certification. How You’ll Impact Patient Care: Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Develops competence in dispensing and delivery of medications. This includes developing competence in the department’s use of information systems, technology, and automation used for dispensing and storage of medications. Develops competence in preparing non-sterile products following USP, state, and federal recommendations, as required. Develops competence in entering medication orders in the computer system and/or processing medication requests via the computer system. Develops competence in managing phone calls from customers and team members such as nurses, physicians or patients. This includes accurately understanding and interpreting the issue, timely resolution, or timely hand-off to another team member as appropriate. Develops competence in pharmacy procedures and documentation as required, satisfying legal, regulatory, and department requirements of pharmacy practice. Complies with legal, regulatory, accreditation standards. This includes (but is not limited to) controlled substance procedures, USP procedures and DNV requirements. What You Will Need: High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Nice To Have (Not Required): Certificate or Diploma in Pharmacy Technology preferred. One-year previous pharmacy experience preferred. PTCB technician certification (CPhT) preferred. North Carolina Board of Pharmacy registration required within 30 days of employment. PTCB/NHA technician certification (CPhT) within 180 days of employment or actively enrolled in an ACPE accredited Pharmacy School.
