Ensures specimens are correctly labeled and orders are received properly. Processes and prepares laboratory specimens for testing, including separating specimens by centrifugation. May receive and set up primary specimen cultures, inoculating petri dishes for bacterial growth. May document equipment temperatures, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure proper functioning of laboratory equipment. Monitors reference lab reports and requests results that are overdue. Maintains appropriate inventory levels and places supply orders as needed. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Basic computer and keyboarding skills [Required] • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask [Required] • Ability and willingness to work independently as well as in a team environment [Required] • Phlebotomy both venipuncture and capillary collections [Required] • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, etc. [Required] Education: • High School Grad or Equiv [Required] Field of Study: • N/A Work Experience: • 2 experience in laboratory setting as laboratory assistant or phlebotomist [Required] Additional Information: • N/A Licenses and Certifications: • Medical Lab Associate (MLA-ASCP) [Preferred] OR •Phlebotomy Technician (PBT(ASCP)) [Preferred] Physical Requirements: (Please click the link below to view work requirements) Physical Requirements - https://tinyurl.com/msy4mja2 Pay Range: $17.11 - $27.38 Background Screening Requirement (Florida Law) Certain positions are subject to Florida Level 2 background screening, including fingerprinting, as required by state law.
