Recommends, initiates, and evaluates service improvements to meet changing market needs. Maintains professional affiliations and enhances professional growth and development. Collaborates effectively with physicians, peers, staff, and administration to promote interdisciplinary communication and cooperation. Provides mentoring and coaching support for service leadership and staff. Adjusts staffing to ensure adequate levels for patient care delivery. Establishes service performance goals, allocates resources, and evaluates performance. Manages costs according to established financial standards. Coordinates development and tracking of both operational and capital budgets for assigned departments. Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies governing healthcare delivery by monitoring operations and initiating required changes. Directs the development of strategic and operational programs for the service area. Plans and implements departmental and service policies and procedures that complement nursing division and hospital policies. Performs other duties as assigned.
