Role Overview The Scheduler plays a critical role in ensuring the brewery operates efficiently and in compliance with all labor agreements. This role manages daily and weekly scheduling for a large, unionized hourly workforce, balancing business needs with employee preferences and contractual obligations. It’s ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, thrives on details, and has strong organizational and technology skills. Responsibilities Build, maintain, and distribute weekly labor schedules for production, packaging, and warehouse teams. Partner with department leaders to forecast labor needs and align staffing with production demand. Ensure all scheduling complies with the collective bargaining agreement (CBA), including seniority, shift assignments, and overtime rules. Update and maintain scheduling data in Excel and Workday (and other brewery systems). Track attendance, shift swaps, and vacation requests while maintaining accurate daily records. Communicate schedule changes promptly and clearly to both management and employees. Support site leaders with analysis of scheduling trends, coverage gaps, and optimization opportunities. Serve as a key contact for union workforce scheduling questions and maintain professionalism in all employee interactions. Qualifications High School diploma required, Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant experience in manufacturing or operations scheduling strongly considered. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required (pivot tables, formulas, and data organization). Experience with Workday, or other workforce management tools a plus. Previous experience in a union environment preferred. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities with tight deadlines. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
