Job Overview
The Building Maintenance Director position is responsible for contributing to the general maintenance functions of the facility, ensuring that the residents' home is safe, comfortable and well maintained.
Duties & Qualifications
- Interior/exterior maintenance
- Furniture assembly
- Basic equipment repair and maintenance
- Security system maintenance
- Supporting resident room moves
- Painting and carpentry
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving
- Floor and carpet care
- Various seasonal projects
- Conducting and documenting safety testing and drills
- Responding to emergency situations
Knowledge & Experience
- Experience or training in maintenance related field
- Basic plumbing and HVAC knowledge
- Basic knowledge of technology related to communication (TV, internet, security)
- Proficient using safe body mechanics
- Proficient using of hand tools
- Experience using cleaning and janitorial equipment
- Proficiency in reading, writing and speaking English language
- Prefer experience in residential community
Physical Requirements
Frequent walking, standing, sitting, crouching, stooping, climbing, reaching, balancing, bending, pushing & pulling up to 100lbs., lifting up to 100lbs.. Requires ability to grasp, lift and use fine motor skills. Requires visual acuity, ability to speak and hear. Occasionally works in extreme hot or cold temperatures; occasionally works in wet or slippery areas.
