Department Overview Systems Engineering defines technical requirements for Bloom’s next-generation products, develops those products, and validates that our designs meet the company’s needs. Within the Electrical subgroup, we hold responsibility for developing the electrical elements of manufacturable and installable products. We interface with marketing and applications engineers to connect customer needs with detailed product requirements. We work closely with electronics designers, mechanical engineers, and vendors to develop subsystem designs. We plan, execute, and report on testing for design validation, compliance, and reliability. We train manufacturing, installation, and field service teams on our designs, and we continue to make improvements throughout the product’s lifecycle. Position Responsibilities Assist engineers in the research, design, development and test of a variety of electrical systems used in distributed energy resources, hydrogen generation and microgrids. Investigate future technologies and architectures, in particular on microgrids and battery storage systems. Design subsystems in new product line and suggest/make improvements to existing products under the direction of other senior engineers. Provide technical support for existing products to analyze design and process related issues, production and field problems Carry out various test programs to evaluate performance of new and existing products Prepare project report and present to team in the last week of internship. Minimum Qualifications Currently a student earning a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering. Must be graduating between May 2026 and August 2027. Desired Qualifications Thorough understanding of electrical power systems, power electronics, control systems. Knowledge of renewable energy technologies, battery storage or grid parallel systems is a plus. Modelling power electronics in Matlab or PSCAD is a plus. Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Salary Statement with pay range Bloom Energy is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The total compensation for this position is based on various factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills and experience. The pay range for this position $36 - $50 per hour.
