Position Purpose

The Vice President of Supply Chain is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and optimization of the healthcare organization's supply chain strategies. This position ensures the seamless operation of supply chain systems. The individual in this role will work collaboratively with executive leadership to align supply chain initiatives with organizational goals, patient care standards, and operational efficiency.

Nature and Scope

1. Supply Chain Management:

* Lead the development and implementation of innovative supply chain strategies to optimize cost, quality, and efficiency across the organization.

* Oversee the procurement, inventory management, logistics, and distribution processes to ensure the timely availability of medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment.

* Lead the team that negotiates contract terms with vendors to secure the best possible outcomes for the organization.

* Build and manage relationships with key suppliers, manufacturers, and distributors to ensure the highest levels of quality and service.

* Monitor and improve supply chain performance, using key performance indicators (KPIs) to track metrics such as cost reduction, inventory turnover, and supplier performance.

* Lead value analysis team that collaborates closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to understand clinical needs and ensure that organizational initiatives align with patient care and financial goals.

* Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, OSHA, healthcare standards) and best practices in the procurement and management of medical products.

2. 3rd Party Vendor Management

* Develop and maintain strategic relationships with third-party suppliers and vendors, ensuring they meet healthcare standards, regulatory requirements, and performance expectations.

* Lead vendor negotiations, contract management, and performance evaluation to drive cost efficiencies, quality, and service improvements.

* In partnership with operations, monitor major vendor performance metrics, identify risks, and implement corrective actions as needed.

3. Budgeting and Financial Oversight:

* Develop and manage the annual budgets for supply chain operations and facilities planning, ensuring financial targets are met while maintaining high-quality care and services.

* Lead cost reduction initiatives and identify opportunities for process improvements that drive cost savings in both supply chain and facilities planning functions.

4. Team Leadership and Development:

* Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing supply chain team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

* Provide guidance and professional development opportunities to team members to enhance skills, capabilities, and performance.

* Promote cross-functional collaboration with other departments such as clinical services, finance, and IT to ensure alignment with organizational goals.

5. Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:

* Serve as a liaison between senior leadership, clinical departments, finance, and operations to align supply chain and facilities strategies with the organization's overall objectives.

* Communicate effectively with all stakeholders regarding supply chain and facilities-related issues, changes, and initiatives.

* Prepare and deliver presentations to the board, executive team, and other key stakeholders regarding strategic initiatives, goals, and progress.

6. Risk Management and Compliance:

* Ensure that supply chain and facilities planning processes comply with healthcare regulations and industry standards, such as HIPAA, The Joint Commission, and local and federal building codes.

* Lead risk management efforts to identify potential disruptions in the supply chain and facilities operations, implementing mitigation strategies as needed.

* Ensure the safety, security, and environmental sustainability of healthcare facilities through initiative-taking risk management and planning.

7. Technology & Innovation

* Leverage technology and data analytics to drive supply chain decision-making, inventory optimization, and performance tracking.

* Implement and manage supply chain management systems and tools to enhance operational efficiency and ensure real-time visibility into supply chain activities.

Minimum Qualifications
Requirements - Required and/or Preferred

Name

Description

Education:

Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English. Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field. A master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., APICS, LEED, or PMP) preferred.

Experience:

* At least 10 years of progressive experience in supply chain management and facilities planning in a healthcare setting, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

* Proven experience in managing complex, large-scale supply chain and facilities operations.

* In-depth knowledge of healthcare industry regulations, best practices, and the unique needs of healthcare facilities.

* Strong financial acumen and experience in managing multi-million-dollar budgets.

* Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing vendor relationships.

Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Exce,l and Word and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
