We are seeking an experienced Pathologists’ Assistant or seasoned laboratory professional with proven leadership skills to manage a dynamic team of approximately 19 staff members, ranging from entry-level to senior, master’s-prepared professionals. This is a fully administrative role with no bench work, focused on departmental leadership, workflow optimization, and continuous quality improvement. The successful candidate will serve as a key liaison between pathologists and medical staff, ensuring excellence in quality assurance, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance. Job Summary: The Supervisor is an integral member of the management team who assists the manager in fulfilling one or more Laboratory division’s responsibilities and overseeing daily operations. Expectations include personnel management, orientation, goal setting, scheduling, compliance with accreditation agencies which includes; the College of American Pathologists, Food and Drug Administration, Association for the Advancement of Blood and Biotherapies, New York State, Joint Commission, Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the Environmental Protection Agency, budget input, succession planning, teaching, communication, policies and procedure management, cost management, staff development and outstanding customer service skills. Responsibilities may also include laboratory test maintenance and management in addition to Laboratory computer information systems maintenance. As part of the management team, the Supervisor assists the Manager. Education: A minimum of a bachelor's degree in a relevant science field (chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology), along with specific training and experience in high complexity testing or in an appropriate Clinical or Anatomic Laboratory. Experience: Four years of clinical or anatomical laboratory experience or three years with a master’s degree or specialist certification.
