Job Description I. JOB SUMMARY The HVAC Specialist monitors and operates building systems equipment for all heating, cooling, and associated systems, records appropriate readings and information. This position performs preventative and general maintenance on equipment. The HVAC Specialist is responsible for air filtration and air quality, as well as performing emergency repairs or adjustments to maintain hospital integrity. II. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Perform power plant rounds of hospital equipment and complete appropriate paperwork. Perform PM’s on assigned equipment. Monitor and make repairs as needed. Organize and implement projects for replacing, upgrading and installing of control systems. Inventory and order replacement filters. Maintain inventory and perform testing on all fire and smoke dampers. Monitor chemical feed systems for boilers, chillers, and closed loop systems. Performs other duties as assigned or requested. III. JOB QUALIFICATIONS Required: High school diploma or equivalent and/or equivalent working knowledge. Minimum five years HVAC experience.
