What are the responsibilities and job description for the Histotechnologist position at 100 Greater Baltimore Medical Center, Inc.?
Under general supervision, the Histotechnologist performs all aspects of histologic slide preparations for diagnosis including routine and special tests, maintenance and quality control, and computer functions.Education: •Associate’s degree in science with at least two (2) years of full-time experience in histopathology within the last five (5) years OR •Successful completion of an accredited histotechnology program, registry eligible OR •Bachelor’s degree with one (1) year of full time experience in histopathology within the last five (5) years. Licensure: Certification as a registered HT or HTL by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) preferred. Experience: Dependent upon level of education acquired Skills: • Knowledge of histologic theory, practices, and standards • Skills in cellular evaluation and interpretation • Skill in oral, written and interpersonal communication • Skill in basic computers • Skill in basic mathematics, data analysis and problem solving • Ability to operate and maintain basic laboratory equipment. • Ability to prioritize work, organize and transfer data accurately. Pay Range $26.53 - $43.50 Final salary offer will be based on the candidate's qualifications, education, experience and alignment with our organizational needs.
