Required Certification:
- Active Program Specialist/ESL certification for the state of Pennsylvania
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required (B.A. or B.S.)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching ESL or general education
- Prior classroom experience preferred
Position Overview:
As an ESL Program Specialist, you will play an important role in helping students enhance their English language proficiency and succeed academically. You will plan and deliver engaging lessons, provide language support across content areas, and create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement effective ESL lesson plans aligned with state and district standards
- Use various instructional strategies to meet the needs of students with different learning styles and backgrounds
- Assess and monitor student progress, making necessary adjustments to improve learning outcomes
- Maintain an encouraging, inclusive, and respectful classroom atmosphere that supports language development
