Summary Administers respiratory therapy and life support to patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system, under supervision of the Director of Respiratory Services, Supervisor of Respiratory Care, and the Medical Director of Respiratory Care. Cares for patients from simple to complex with multi system issues in a safe and therapeutic environment. Education Graduate from an accredited Paramedic Program. Certification, Registration & Licensure Certification required: Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification, or equivalent course credentialed by American Heart Association. Registration required to obtain: Current National Registered Paramedic. Licensure required: Current New Hampshire Paramedic License. Experience 4 years’ experience in Emergency Medical Services, a minimum of 1 year as a paramedic. Evidence of experience in working effectively and positively with patients, care providers, and the multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities Performs initial and ongoing patient assessments and adapts to changing clinical conditions. Administers medication to patients. Documents care provided and patient's progress toward attainment of desired outcomes. Involves self in departmental and hospital initiatives. Manages time and workload fluctuations. Utilizes the hospital and departmental information, technology systems and equipment operations. Completes departmental and hospital requirements. Performs other duties as assigned, including the following: Oxygen Administration (low flow, high flow, nebulizer, CPAP, BIPAP, and Manual Ventilation), Intrahospital transport of patients on non-invasive ventilation and ventilators, Airway management, and suctioning of the airway (including deep tracheal).
