Job Description Manages and oversee unit operational functions, human resource management, special projects, and process redesign. Coordinates project teams to ensure quality implementations within established timelines. Proactively supports efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and promote a safe environment at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. This role will be focusing on Quality measures, specifically CLABSI, within the NICU. Schedule is 2 weekdays with one of them always Tuesday. Hours would be as early as 7AM some days and usually 8A-5P. Experience Minimum 3 years RN experience; NICU preferred Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in nursing, education, leadership, or other healthcare related field Minimum 1 year of leadership and management experience in a healthcare setting Previous Level 4 NICU experience Previous experience in Quality/CLABSI helpful Education Bachelor of Science in Nursing Certification Summary Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the single State of Georgia or Multi-State through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association within 30 days of employment or upon start of clinical shift if working in the Emergency Department (ED) Professional Nursing certification deemed by department required upon one year of hire Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities An understanding of process improvement and project management Must have excellent written and verbal skills Demonstrates the ability to organize workloads and resources Has strong interpersonal skills to interact positively and productively with a variety of personnel within the hospital, including administrative and executive staff Job Responsibilities Practice (Caring for the Patient) Manages environment for delivery of care. Acts as clinical resource for patient population in area. Maintains ability to assist with clinical care. Development (Fostering Clinical Knowledge) Participates in educational process related to delivery of healthcare. Maintains own professional development. Fosters professional development of others via constructive performance feedback, input, and coaching. Engagement (Engaging and Leading Professionally) Provides leadership for project management and change. Participates actively in and supports shared leadership councils. Fosters collegial relationships between team members, other departments, and medical staff members. Demonstrates fiscal accountability in supporting budget preparation, monthly analysis, and compliance to budget guidelines. May serve as unit leader in absence of manager. Outcomes (Driving Excellent Results) Participates in achievement of organizational and departmental goals. Participates in departmental national recognition data collection processes and analysis. Facilitates and coordinates work toward care standardization and performance improvement in accordance with evidence-based practice. Performs other responsibilities as required.
