10-8 Outfitters is growing, and we're looking for dependable, motivated individuals to join our team as Automotive Upfit Technicians.

We specialize in building and equipping law enforcement and emergency response vehicles with lighting, electronics, consoles, partitions, and other specialized equipment.

We're looking for individuals who take pride in their work, enjoy working with their hands, and want to build a career where their effort and abilities directly influence their earning potential.

No previous upfitting experience is required. We're willing to train the right person.

A Different Approach to Pay

We believe employees who consistently show up to work on time and produce quality work efficiently should have the opportunity to earn more.

Paid Training – $15/hour

You'll begin with hands-on training to learn our procedures, equipment, and quality standards.

There is no predetermined training period. Your advancement depends on your ability to demonstrate that you can complete assigned work correctly, efficiently, and independently.

Performance-Based Pay – $30 /Hour Potential

Once you can show that you are proficient in the upfit process, you'll transition to our production-based compensation system.

This structure rewards technicians based on productivity, quality workmanship, and their contribution to the team's overall performance.

High-performing technicians have the opportunity to earn the equivalent of $30 or more per hour.

We don't reward rushing. We reward efficiency.

There's a big difference between working quickly and working efficiently. We expect our technicians to work with purpose, minimize wasted time, and complete jobs correctly the first time.

Cutting corners, sacrificing quality, and creating unnecessary rework are not acceptable ways to increase productivity but instead a great way to no longer be employed here. This type of work is detrimental to our team and business and simply will not be tolerated.

Higher earnings are not automatic or guaranteed. They're achieved through consistently meeting our standards for quality, efficiency, and teamwork.

What You'll Do

• Install emergency lighting, sirens, and vehicle electronics
• Install consoles, partitions, push bumpers, and specialized equipment
• Disassemble and reassemble vehicle interiors
• Route and secure wiring harnesses
• Follow detailed installation procedures and work orders
• Work alongside other technicians to complete vehicle builds
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace
• Ensure completed work meets our quality standards
