Position Summary

1 Stop Companies is seeking an experienced and dependable Multi-Site Facilities Maintenance Technician to support our growing group of businesses, including 1 Stop Motor Vehicle Services locations, PawnCo stores, and our restaurant. This position is responsible for completing general repairs, preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and emergency service calls across more than 23 commercial locations throughout Maricopa County. The ideal candidate is a skilled, resourceful maintenance professional who can independently diagnose and complete a wide variety of repairs involving plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC equipment, restaurant equipment, fixtures, doors, walls, flooring, and other building systems. Larger projects and repairs requiring specialized licensing or outside expertise will be coordinated with approved vendors. This role requires strong judgment, professionalism, organization, and the ability to work independently inside active retail, office, pawn, and restaurant environments.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform general repairs and ongoing maintenance at all company locations throughout the Maricopa County.
  • Respond to maintenance requests and prioritize work based on safety, urgency, operational impact, and business needs.
  • Diagnose and repair common plumbing issues, including leaking faucets, toilets, drains, supply lines, sinks, fixtures, and minor clogs.
  • Troubleshoot and complete appropriate electrical repairs, including outlets, switches, lighting, fixtures, breakers, and other basic electrical issues.
  • Troubleshoot HVAC concerns and complete routine maintenance or minor repairs when appropriate.
  • Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting of restaurant equipment, including refrigeration units, ice machines, dishwashers, plumbing systems, kitchen fixtures, and related equipment.
  • Repair and maintain doors, locks, hinges, cabinets, shelving, counters, walls, ceilings, flooring, tile, drywall, and paint.
  • Assemble, install, relocate, or repair office furniture, equipment, signage, shelving, fixtures, and other business property.
  • Complete routine preventive maintenance inspections and identify potential problems before they result in business interruptions or larger expenses.
  • Respond to emergency repair calls, including occasional after-hours and Saturday needs.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors and licensed contractors when repairs exceed the employee’s expertise, require permits, or must be completed by a licensed trade professional.
  • Meet vendors at company locations, explain the scope of work, provide access, monitor progress, and communicate updates to leadership.
  • Obtain estimates when requested and help evaluate whether repairs should be completed internally or outsourced.
  • Purchase or pick up approved materials and supplies needed to complete assigned work.
  • Maintain accurate records of completed repairs, time spent, materials used, vendor activity, and recommended follow-up work.
  • Communicate clearly with Jeff, Ethan, executive staff, location managers, and other members of leadership regarding repair status, safety concerns, costs, and completion timelines.
  • Maintain company keys, access codes, and confidential facility information responsibly.
  • Keep work areas clean, safe, and organized while completing repairs in active business locations.
  • Follow applicable safety standards, company procedures, manufacturer instructions, and building requirements.
  • Assist with new-location openings, location moves, equipment installations, refresh projects, and other facilities-related needs as assigned.
  • Perform additional maintenance and facilities duties as needed to support the continued growth of the company.

Required Qualifications

  • At least five years of professional handyman, commercial maintenance, facilities maintenance, construction, or related experience, or an equivalent combination of demonstrated experience and technical ability.
  • Strong working knowledge of general building maintenance and repair.
  • Experience troubleshooting plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, drywall, painting, flooring, doors, locks, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Experience maintaining commercial buildings, retail locations, restaurants, or multi-site operations strongly preferred.
  • Ability to diagnose problems and determine whether work can be completed internally or requires a specialized vendor.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple work orders, and adjust priorities when emergencies arise.
  • Strong communication, follow-through, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional appearance and conduct while working around employees, customers, vendors, and business partners.
  • Ability to use mobile applications, email, text messaging, and basic work-order or documentation systems.
  • Valid Arizona driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
  • Reliable truck or suitable work vehicle capable of transporting tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Must provide and maintain a standard set of personal tools appropriate for commercial maintenance and repair work.
  • Ability to successfully complete a background check.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to regularly stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, reach, and work in confined or elevated spaces.
  • Ability to safely use ladders, hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or move items weighing up to approximately 50 pounds, with assistance used for heavier items.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions.
  • Ability to safely perform physical repair and maintenance work throughout the workday.

Schedule and Availability

The regular schedule is expected to be Monday through Friday from approximately 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. As the employee demonstrates reliability, good judgment, and the ability to work independently, the schedule may become more flexible based on assigned work orders and access to company locations.
