Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager – Transmission & Substation to manage multiple transmission and substation capital projects. The Project Manager will oversee projects through various phases including engineering, construction, and closeout while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.
This role requires a self-driven professional with strong stakeholder management, financial oversight, and the ability to coordinate technical teams while managing competing priorities. The position includes regular field visits to substations and project sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple transmission and substation projects simultaneously throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead projects from engineering through construction, commissioning, and project closeout.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, construction, operations, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
- Monitor project performance and proactively identify risks, issues, and mitigation strategies.
- Facilitate project meetings and provide regular status updates to leadership and stakeholders.
- Prioritize project activities to ensure successful execution across multiple active projects.
- Perform field/site walkdowns at transmission and substation facilities.
- Review technical documentation and coordinate resolution of engineering and construction issues.
- Ensure projects comply with company safety standards, quality requirements, and project governance processes.
- Track project financials and support budget forecasting and cost control.
Required Qualifications
- 5–10 years of Project Management experience.
- Experience managing Transmission and/or Substation projects.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Financial management and project budgeting experience.
- Ability to independently drive projects to completion.
- Ability to understand technical engineering concepts and coordinate technical activities.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to quickly learn company software and project management tools.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel to project sites.
- Ability to perform field walkdowns at gravel substations.
