Lil' Miracles Daycare & Learning Center is in need of kind spirited, nurturing, energetic infant and toddler assistants and caregivers. The position is part time and can become full time with most paid holidays, Thanksgiving and Christmas recess in addition to tips for exceptional job performance after 6 months. Previous work experience in a licensed childcare setting is highly preferred but will consider a willingness to learn along with a strong work ethic. Certificates in infant and child development, health and safety, CPR and First Aid are desirable and is a NYS requirement to work with children. Candidate should have reliable transportation, exceptional attendance, and excellent oral and written communication skills. Prerequisites to hiring will include, but not be limited to, being fingerprinted, background check, references, along with a current physical, and successful completion of on-the job training.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Establish and maintain a clean, safe, and nurturing classroom and outdoor environment
- Make sure the individual needs of the children are met
- Oversee and work together with associate and assistant teachers
- Ensure compliance with state regulations and center policies
- Establish collaborative relationships with families and promote family engagement
- Complete required documentation in a timely manner
- Uniform shirt
- Diaper changing and supportive potty training
- Handwashing and universal precautions
- Other projects and support as assigned
- Lifting up to 40 pounds
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in early childhood education, CDA or related field, or enrolled in an early childhood program, or High School Boces, High School and experience combined with a love for children.
- Strong oral, written, and verbal skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Must be willing to be fingerprinted through OCFS
- Must clear the State Central Registry (SCR)
- Current physical
