The ideal candidate will support the full scope of Human Resources responsibilities and partner with the organization on strategic initiatives. They will maintain and enhance the organization's human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating human resources policies, programs, and practices.
The People Operations Manager is responsible for strategy and implementation of various People Operations programs, systems and procedures to aid in the attraction, retention and motivation of team members in accordance with policies, procedures and government laws and regulations; assist in the administration while promoting a safe, fair, positive work environment.
GENERAL DUTIES:
· Manage and oversee daily People Operations activities including onboarding, orientation, offboarding, employee records, and HRIS administration.
· Ensure a seamless onboarding experience that reflects the 1 Hotels culture and values.
· Maintain accurate and confidential employee files in compliance with legal and company requirements.
· Support recruitment efforts including job postings, screening, interviews, and hiring coordination.
· Partner with leaders to ensure staffing needs are met in alignment with business demands.
· Serve as a trusted resource for team members and leaders regarding employee relations matters.
· Support conflict resolution, investigations, and corrective action processes, ensuring fairness, consistency, and documentation.
· Promote an open-door culture where team members feel heard, respected, and supported.
· Assist in the planning and execution of team member engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and cultural events.
· Monitor engagement survey results and assist in developing action plans to address opportunities.
· Support the performance management cycle including goal setting, performance reviews, and development planning.
· Coach leaders on effective feedback, coaching, and performance improvement practices.
· Assist with succession planning, training coordination, and career development initiatives.
· Partner with Learning & Development to ensure training compliance and continuous skill development.
· Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.
· Support the administration and communication of People Operations policies, procedures, and handbook updates.
· Monitor compliance related to timekeeping, attendance, leaves of absence, and accommodations.
· Assist with audits, reporting, and regulatory documentation as required.
· Partner with Payroll to ensure accurate processing of timecards, payroll changes, and approvals.
· Support benefits administration including enrollments, changes, and employee inquiries.
· Maintain HR systems and reports to support workforce planning and decision-making.
· Analyze People Operations data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
· Act as a strategic partner to department leaders, providing guidance on people-related matters.
· Support leaders in aligning team performance with brand standards and service culture.
· Promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging across all People Operations practices.
· Model professionalism, discretion, and empathy in all interactions.
· Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications.
· Ensure compliance with hotel policies, procedures, and standards with self and colleagues.
· Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
· Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.

Qualifications
· At least 2 years of related Human Resources experience in a hotel
· Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
· Are organized and proficient at multitasking
· Demonstrates self-confidence, high levels of energy, enthusiasm and motivation through actions.
· Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in a fast paced environment.
· Ability to manage time well, meet imposed deadlines and be flexible.
· Quick learner and thinker – able to grasp new concepts.
· Innovative and change-driven with a high sense of urgency.
· Strives to improve self, others and overall practices and procedures.
· Strong, positive and energized professional presence.
· Thorough understanding of compliance for all aspects of People Operations, including but not limited to labor laws, posting requirements and documents,
· Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations.
· Proficient in verbal and written English communication
· Computer literate: advanced knowledge of personal computers and various software.
