IT Business Systems Analyst
The primary role is to support data and analytics reporting for our business teams across the organization. This job works on moderately complex problems and determines and develops approaches for accomplishing objectives.
While embedded within the business departments across the organization, this position will work within the IT Business Systems, Analytics, and Automation Team. A cross-functional team of talented IT staff from the system administration, engineering, network infrastructure, cybersecurity, and the project management office will support them.
This role will apply proven, team-oriented communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to design and optimize #1 Cochran's data and analytics technology stack. What you’ll do:
- As an IT-embedded strategic partner within the business teams; the focus is to mature the partnership between Accounting and IT, focusing on technology enablement and process improvement.
- Work within the IT Project Management Office framework, define business and user problems, evaluate and prioritize requirements, and successfully implement solutions that meet stakeholder expectations and defined success criteria.
- Recognize and define business requirements in the context of analytics and create data models to transform raw data into actionable information.
- Provide recommendations to address specific business needs across the organization using existing and new information technology-based solutions.
- Perform system validations in alignment with business requirements.
- Collaborate with multiple cross-functional teams externally and internally to implement systems and business processes.
- Support the planning and configuration of multifaceted system settings and options.
- Use Microsoft Power BI and Solver (a business planning and reporting software) to create dashboards and interactive visual reports.
- Analyze data to display in reports to help aid business decisions.
- Facilitate inquiries through systems providing answers to common questions and problems.
- Create charts and data documentation explaining algorithms, parameters, models, and relationships.
- Attend training courses as required and stay abreast of evolving internal processes and industry developments.
- Provide customer service and remote support services for the business teams across the organization.
- Communicate verbal and written technical information to a wide range of audiences.
- Continuously seek opportunities for innovation within the organization’s technology landscape.
- Lead pilot projects for new technologies and methodologies, evaluating their impact and driving continuous improvement to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Exhibit strong leadership qualities, including conflict resolution, effective negotiation, change management, and leading cross-functional teams.
- Employ excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships and foster a collaborative working environment.
- Operate with a strong understanding of ITIL principles, cybersecurity best practices, and applicable regulatory or compliance standards.
- Work closely with cybersecurity teams to implement robust data security practices and ensure all technology solutions comply with applicable data protection and privacy regulations.
What we are looking for:
- 1 year of experience with BI tools and systems such as Power BI, Tableau, SAP/Oracle, and Microsoft Excel.
- Familiar with Microsoft SQL Server, BI Stack tools, and technologies is a plus.
- Examples: SSRS and TSQL, Power Query, MDX, Power BI, and DAX.
- Familiar with Relational data modeling and building semantic models
- Customer service and troubleshooting experience.
- Experience working with stakeholders and end users to obtain and document both business and technical requirements.
- Experience creating technical and end-user training documentation.
- Exceptional organization and time-management skills.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Willingness to learn new tools/keep up to date with the latest technology trends
