Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and front loader trucks to prepare and grade surfaces for asphalt paving.
- Conduct utility locating to identify underground lines and prevent damage during excavation and paving activities.
- Manage the paving process by spreading asphalt efficiently and ensuring proper compaction for durability.
- Assist with site preparation, including grading, leveling, and ensuring proper drainage for driveway longevity.
- Maintain safety standards by adhering to construction site protocols and using appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate tasks and ensure timely project completion.
- Perform routine inspections of equipment like Caterpillar machinery to ensure optimal operation throughout the project.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as loaders, backhoes, graders, and dump trucks.
- Strong knowledge of asphalt paving techniques and construction site procedures.
- Familiarity with utility locating methods and safety regulations on construction sites.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Prior experience in asphalt driveway is highly desirable.
- Valid certifications in heavy equipment operation; certifications related to Caterpillar machinery are a plus.
- Excellent teamwork skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving on-site.
Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
