(This position is full time in office 5 days a week.) Support all divisions of the Office of Management and Enterprise Services and other agencies. Salary is up $52,500 based on background and experience. Responsibilities Coordinate and assist with researching, writing and editing informational and educational publications, bulletins, powerpoints, pamphlets and other communication materials. Correct grammar, spelling and punctuation errors following AP Style guides. Fact-check customer content. Ensure documents are 508-compliant, readable to the target audience and comply with OMES branding. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism or related field or four (4) years of professional experience in journalism/copy editing. Experience using remediation software, preferably CommonLook. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Top-level knowledge of the copy editing and proofreading processes. Strong proficiency in written, visual and oral communications. Proficiency with the track/edit tool functions in Word. Proficiency with the comments tool in Adobe Acrobat. Competency using Adobe CommonLook for remediation. Familiarity with Office 365 for communication purposes, including Teams meetings. Physical Demands and Work Environment This position works in a comfortable office setting with a computer for a large percentage of the workday. The noise level in the work environment is usually mild. This position requires hours of reading daily.
