Glenlo Abbey Hotel & Estate sits on a 138-acre estate with the original 18th century manor house dating back to the 1740's. The Hotel comprises of 73 bedrooms including 6 suites, 11 Luxury Self-Catering Lodges, Corrib Suite (catering for meetings, events, and weddings for up to 170 guests), River Room Restaurant, Palmers Bar and Kitchen, The Pullman Restaurant (an original Dining Carriage from the Orient Express), Glo Spa & Wellness, and a GUI accredited Championship 9 Hole Golf Course with 21 bay driving range.

We are currently seeking applications from suitably qualified candidates for the role of Seasonal Resort Greenkeeper.

The role of the Seasonal Resort Greenkeeper will be responsible for assisting with the maintenance of the playing areas and landscapes within and surrounding the golf course.

Reporting to: The Estate Manager

The ideal candidate will be:

• Standards driven and detail-orientated.
• Have the ability to multi-task in a fast based environment.
• Have an excellent command of the English language, both spoken and written.
• Willing to work a 5 day week which will include weekends in rotation.

Key tasks / Responsibilities

• Carry-out the care and maintenance of the course, range and other practice facilities including turf / grass cutting on greens, fairways, rough, tee boxes and all grounds on the property.
• Assist with fertilizer and seeding programs, in-house training provided if required.
• Assist with the scheduling/maintenance of irrigation systems, pesticide applications, related recordings and compliance of regulatory issues, in-house training provided if required.
• Ensure the mowing and care of mounds, contours and hazards are brought up to and kept to a high standard.
• Assist with sod farm / greens nursery where necessary.
• Maintaining the green keeping work areas in good operational condition.
• Assisting with the maintenance and servicing of plant and equipment.
• Assisting on the practice range with the collection of range balls, cleaning and ensuring range balls are available during all opening hours.
• Assist with the construction/re-modelling of the golf course and driving range as required.
• Rendering professional advice, opinions, assistance, and services to Company Management.
• Assist with landscape duties both on-course and at Resort Hotel grounds if required.
• Assist with boundary maintenance, ensuring guests walks are kept free of debris and walls are weed free.
