About the role The primary responsibility of the Retirement Advice Consultant is to answer inbound calls, providing general advice to members and referring members with personal advice needs to the appropriate financial advice service. This role will mainly involve talking with members who are in the pre-retirement or retirement phase. The Retirement Advice Consultant must have strong technical knowledge on Superannuation and a very good understanding of financial advice matters. The role requires the highest standards of professional conduct and compliance with regulatory obligations. Key Accountabilities Provide high-quality general advice to members on pre-retirement and retirement planning options. Handle inbound and outbound calls, addressing superannuation and financial advice inquiries. Use effective questioning techniques to understand member needs and help them make informed decisions. Refer members to Retirement Advisers, Superannuation Advisers, or Comprehensive Financial Advisers for personal advice when appropriate. Simplify complex superannuation and financial concepts for members, using clear and jargon-free language. Ensure regulatory and compliance requirements are met. Stay updated on financial planning topics, fund products, and industry trends to enhance service quality. Work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders to achieve positive member outcomes. Meet KPIs and service excellence standards, while upholding company values. Key Selection Criteria: Minimum two years' experience in a superannuation, financial advice or member service role. RG146 qualification (additional financial advice or superannuation studies preferred). Strong superannuation knowledge, including pre-retirement strategies, retirement planning, and Centrelink. Experience with Defined Benefit Schemes is beneficial. Understanding of financial advice regulations and compliance requirements. Strong customer service skills, communication abilities, and problem-solving techniques. Ability to adapt to new systems, work in a fast-paced call environment, and manage multiple priorities. Resilient, reliable, flexible, and enthusiastic with a 'can do' attitude. Available to work between 8:30 AM - 6:00 PM on a rotating roster.
