Senior Research Specialist - Radio Energy Efficiency

We are currently looking to strengthen our team with a Senior Research Specialist to play a crucial role in enhancing energy efficiency of 6G communication. As a member of a high-performing standardization research team, you will create and develop concepts, frameworks, and studies for standardization forums related to telecommunications. Moreover, you will create together with Nokia experts proposals for standardization on our road towards net zero networks.

Nokia Standards (NSD) drive Nokia's technology leadership by developing and bringing innovative concepts to industry and standardization organizations. NSD also works within the ecosystems to ensure an inventor-friendly industry environment, favorable to Nokia's business success.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

We are looking for highly motivated and skilled people with a solid background in wireless communication to drive progress in future radio technology standards. Are you passionate about solving energy efficiency problems and helping the telecommunication industry to reduce greenhouse gas emissions?

As part of our team, you will:

  • Drive progress as a technical lead, contributing to new products, processes, and standards in wireless communication, focusing on future sustainable 6G networks and energy efficient radio.
  • Work with a world-class team to drive 6G radio technologies in global standardization.
  • Apply and expand your knowledge by identifying and developing new approaches for energy efficient radio in 6G.

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

You  have:

  • Willingness to make a difference and participate in turning Nokia's comprehensive vision for achieving exceptional energy efficiency in 6G networks into reality.
  • Deep technical background in wireless communication and experience in innovating wireless communication technologies like UE and network energy saving schemes, power control, MIMO, beamforming, and carrier aggregation.
  • Solid knowledge of methods to analyze and optimize performance of wireless systems, including hands-on experience in developing tools with C /Matlab such as system-level and/or link-level simulators.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Experience in RAN1, RAN2 and RAN4 standardization.
