Position: Senior Counsel - Privacy, AI and Data Responsibility

Overview

Mastercard is committed to balancing innovation with privacy protection and has established a world-class privacy program. We are currently expanding our global team.

The Senior Counsel will support the strategy and daily operations of the Europe Data Protection Office (DPO Office) and the Open Banking Privacy Team. Reporting to the Head of the DPO Office and the Senior Managing Counsel for Open Banking, this role involves ensuring privacy compliance, engaging with authorities and stakeholders, and applying complex data laws, especially GDPR. Familiarity with Payments Services rules related to Open Banking is essential, and the candidate should be comfortable analyzing new technologies.

Key activities include:

Qualifications

• European Law degree, preferably from Denmark, Sweden, or Norway, with specialization in privacy law.
• Membership to a Bar (if permitted).
• Additional qualifications like LLM, CIPM, CIPP certifications are assets.
• Experience with GDPR, CCPA, LGPD, Open Banking laws, EU payments rules, Danish Payments Act.
• Expertise in DPO tasks, privacy risk management, and compliance monitoring.
• Fluent in Danish and English.
