Zume Inc. is Hiring a Quality Technician Near Camarillo, CA

Zume is looking for a Quality Assurance Technician to join the Zume team in our Camarillo, CA molded fiber Manufacturing/Research & Development center.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensure activities and items are in compliance with both company quality assurance, Food Safety standards and applicable government regulations, such as FDA, GMP requirements
  • Ensure Work Instructions/Controlled documents are followed
  • Enter Quality data into MES and any other software system in use by the company
  • Guarantee that established manufacturing inspection, sampling and statistical process control procedures are followed as applicable
  • Verification of lot traceability, completion of chemical logs required for traceability, coding of finished goods, and recipe verification against the manufacturing specification
  • Provide requested support of on-going innovation initiatives
  • Maintain and demonstrate a high degree of knowledge and skill in, quality systems, processes, and regulations and documents/forms
  • Execute continuous improvement activities for established processes and initiates/supports development of new processes
  • Perform in house equipment calibration (scale/pH meter, etc.)
  • Determine overall plant product quality by conducting and evaluating various product tests, freeness, consistency, tension, etc.
  • Evaluate and take corrective action, when necessary
  • Educate and instruct plant personnel in recommended quality control testing, equipment sanitation, and general sanitation practices. Confirm these procedures are being maintained
  • Follow all Work Instructions (WI), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
  • Keep all laboratory equipment in sanitary condition
  • Partner with other technicians on their shift/team to successfully and respectfully divide lab or test activities
  • Availability to rotate shifts

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 3 - 5 years experience in quality or related fields
  • Must be able to work 5:30AM – 2:00PM
  • Previous FSQA, GLP experience preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience with Quality, Food Safety Management Systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills including root cause identification and resolution.
  • Experience in tracking, analyzing and reporting quality data
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • High sense of urgency and ability to work self-directed in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient computer skills including experience using MS Office Suite
  • Ability to act as a member of a highly functioning team
  • Demonstrate analytical, critical thinking, and time management skills
